Press pictures
The City of London press office provides several freely-reusable photographs for media use each year. You can also browse through our image library to find historic pictures of the Lord Mayor’s Show and processions from previous years. Most – but not all – are free to use.
The new Lord Mayor
Alderman Michael Bear has been elected Lord Mayor of London and will take office in the Silent Ceremony on November 12th, the day before the Lord Mayor’s Show. Until then he will be known as the Lord Mayor Elect. The Show itself is his journey in procession to the Royal Courts of Justice to swear loyalty to the Crown.
Supported community floats
Each year the Lord Mayor’s community float scheme builds links between the City and its neighbouring boroughs. This year’s sponsored floats are the crafty volunteers of Spitalfields farm, the young dancers of the City YMCA, the artists and musicians of Hoxton Hall and the spectacular gods and monsters of the London School of Samba.
